Building an Inclusive Workplace at Statwax

Emerging employer of the year 2019

At Statwax we love helping higher education organizations find potential students of all types looking to change their lives. Educational opportunities can be life-changing for people from all walks of life and help create professionals that bring a rich diversity to the workforces of companies like ours.

For the past year, we have been privileged to be a part of the Disability Inclusion in the Workplace Business Networking Group in our local community. Our goal in participating in this group is two-fold; to continue our mission of inclusion by networking with service providers and organizations serving the disability community – working together and crowdsourcing opportunities, and to share our story of becoming a more inclusive workforce through the recruiting and hiring of those with disabilities with other employers.

This March, we are honored to be a part of the month-long celebrations in our home community for Disability Awareness Month.

City of Fishers Disability Awareness Month Event

We were incredibly proud to have one of our own team members, Jordan Dickey, serve as the keynote speaker at the kick-off event for the month-long celebration. Hearing him share his personal and professional journey was inspiring for all in attendance, and we are so glad to be a small part of that journey.

Additionally, we couldn’t be more honored to have been named the 2019 Emerging Employer of the Year by the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability and the City of Fishers. We hope that continuing to share how having a diverse workforce, including those with disabilities, has enriched both our clients and team members. We also hope that by sharing tips of easy ways any business can be more open to those with disabilities, organizations in our community will continue to commit to building inclusive workplaces.
