Statwax Team Spotlight: Heidi Hackett, Controller
At Statwax, we’re big believers in working as a team. As we each contribute our own ideas and efforts, we’re rewarded with a motivating environment that’s a true blend of each Statwax team member’s unique qualities. We leave our competitive edges for our client’s higher ed campaigns, and for our office challenges. Ones that make coming to work more fun, like our Board Game Challenge, or our bracket competitions (with past hits such as “Best Indy Pizza Places” and “Office Disney Favorites.” And on the subject of bracket challenges, our next team spotlight happens to feature our most unstoppable March Madness bracket winner.
Meet our Controller, Heidi Hackett. Heidi specializes in all internal financial related activities. She keeps our numbers in line so that we can focus on scaling enrollment results for our clients. Heidi also volunteers with ICAN, occasionally bringing a service dog in training into the office to help them learn – with the added bonus of helping brighten our days! Our team wouldn’t be the same without her positive outlook and helpful attitude. We asked Heidi a few questions so you can can get to know her for yourself.
What do you think is the most important lesson you’ve learned since working at Statwax?
Everyday at Statwax Agency is filled with unique challenges and opportunities that we are all faced with. Since everyday is so exciting, we are constantly growing and learning from our experiences.
What is your favorite thing about working in the Statwax office?
My favorite part is definitely the people that I get to work with everyday. There is a lot to love about everyone in the office. It’s so rewarding to work in an environment filled with such hard workers that are both smart and funny.
How do you spend your free time?
I really love working with my horses, and enjoying warmer weather. I also volunteer with ICAN, an organization focused on helping incarcerated adults train service dogs for people with disabilities. The dogs are trained in jail and the volunteers work to give the dogs real world experience.
What’s your favorite memory that you’ve made while working at Statwax?
This isn’t really a favorite memory, but I always enjoy the pitch-ins we have. Our most recent theme was ballpark food, in honor of the Indians opening day at Victory Field! There’s just something about eating together. We always have interesting, crazy conversations and lively debates. We all end up laughing our heads off. When lunch is over we’re refreshed, energized, and ready to get back at running killer campaigns for our clients!
How would you describe the office culture in 5 words?
Statwax values employees and clients.
